“Nexus is the granddaddy of the independent superhero and still outclasses the lot of ‘em!”
— Alex RossNEWS:
Nexus returns this summer with a brand-new graphic novel as co-creator Mike Baron prepares to launch Nexus: Triplets on Kickstarter. This project marks the latest chapter in the long-running indie sci-fi series, and continues a fan-favorite collaboaration that began with Nexus: Scourge.
Written by Baron with artwork by Kelsey Shannon, Nexus: Triplets is nearly complete and is preparing to enter the crowdfunding phase to bring the book to print. The campaign will give longtime fans, as well as new readers, a chance to jump on the ongoing evolution of the iconic character and even secure exclusive editions and unique rewards.
This announcement comes during a milestone year for Nexus, which celebrates its 45th anniversary in June of 2026. With renewed attention from the recent deluxe omnibus release with its restored content, Nexus: Triplets will become a key release in the cosmic vigilante’s ongoing resurgence.
NEXUS: TRIPLETS is a blistering cosmic rescue mission in which Nexus — the haunted vigilante with nightmares of mass murderers — races across black holes, explores savage underworlds, and searches bizarre alien worlds to bring three kidnapped prodigy children back home. Packed with wild sci-fi spectacle, hard-hitting action, and darkly funny, larger-than-life villains, it’s a high-energy adventure that blends classic comic-book pulp with a huge, cinematic sense of wonder. Baron, who co-created Nexus in 1981, remains actively involved in expanding the series and connecting directly with the fans through events and crowdfunding. Baron’s upcoming Kickstarter campaign reflects his continued commitment to creator-driven publishing and independent comics. Nexus: Triplets is the kind of story that hurtles forward like a rocket and lands with the emotional punch of a true comic-book classic. Readers can expect Nexus: Triplets to launch on Kickstarter later this summer. Unlike the original line of softcover, smaller, no-frills omnibus editions from Dark Horse Comics, which have been out of print for well over a decade and contained no backmatter or extras, these premium tomes will be oversized, deluxe hardcover editions that collect the entire main series from Capital Comics, First Comics, and Dark Horse Comics, including one shots, backmatter, limited series, as well as other material never before reprinted!
“It’s a book that satisfies as a story, as a comic, and as science fiction . . . Nexus is a book that makes one want to come back next issue and the next – and that is a real pleasure.”
— Chris Claremont
This omnibus collection will gather the full run of the definitive Nexus comics by master storyteller Mike Baron. Volume 1 will be an 880-page collection of Nexus’s journey, from his original Capital Comics origins presented in volume one in glorious black and white, magazine size, to the full color series at First Comics.
“I herewith declare to an unbridled enthusiasm for Nexus. I’ve watched with pleasure as Mike and Steve have maintained their charm, skill and originality through one incarnation after another. It’s been fifteen years, and a comic must have a lot of muscle to maintain that kind of loyalty in a reader as picky and cranky as I… Nexus rules.”— Harlan Ellison
